HIV & Poverty Relief

In Nairobi, Kenya, there is a massive slum called the Kawangware. Estimates of over 300,000 people live in the Kawangware. A great number of these people are women and children who have HIV/AIDS. They are suffering and desperate. We seek to offer hope to these suffering ones by providing the funds needed for a full-time HIV nurse inside of the slum.

Would you consider helping us provide for the monthly needs of our full-time nurse, Elizabeth Punyua, and her ministry of caring for the poor and HIV Positive in the Kawangware? Your support will help provide HIV testing, medicine, food, blankets and HIV seminars. All of which brings hope to those suffering and often dying of HIV/AIDS.

Elizabeth Punyua

We are honored to partner with Elizabeth Punyua, a trained and licensed HIV/AIDS medical professional, serving in the Kawangware slum of Nairobi. While Elizabeth is extremely skilled as a nurse, her care for the people she works with goes much deeper than just their physical health. Elizabeth also provides the needed help for each person spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically.

Today over 300 HIV/AIDS clients are treated and cared for by Elizabeth. To these dear ones, Elizabeth is a safe place for testing, crisis care, education, support, and encouragement. But Elizabeth doesn’t just stay in the clinic. She walks among the people of the Kawangware slum. Her greatest work is often done as she visits her clients where they live.
It is out in the slum itself that we have had the privilege of watching Elizabeth be the hands and heart of Jesus to so many.

Elizabeth visits them, cares for them, brings them food, medicine, and blankets. She brings them whatever they need to survive or to ease their pain. Whatever they may need to die with dignity.

Elizabeth prays with them and for them. She offers them hope! Beyond Our Door Global is humbled and honored to have this Elizabeth Punyua as one of our partners.
